The Refugee Young Adult Mentor program matches refugee young adults ages 15-24 with adult mentors in the community that promote social emotional well-being support. Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support, and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.
The tasks and responsibilities of this role include:
- Completing pre-match training and post-match evaluations
- Planning and attending weekly meetings with mentee
- Regular contact with the Mentor Coordinator
- Administrative responsibilities such as tracking volunteer hours, mileage, and activities.
- Attendance at quarterly trainings and activities
