Catholic Charities is recruiting volunteers for an upcoming community food distribution with One Generation Away on Monday, March 30. The distribution will take place at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, and we are seeking 10 volunteers to help serve families in the Antioch community.
Volunteers will assist with several key tasks to help the distribution run smoothly. This includes unloading boxes of donated food as pallets are removed from the refrigerated truck, organizing food items onto folding tables, and helping with the orderly distribution of food to recipients. Volunteers will also help guide recipients as they line up and ensure the process remains organized and welcoming for everyone attending.
The delivery truck typically arrives between 1:00 and 2:00 PM, and volunteers will be needed shortly before arrival to help prepare the site and stay during the distribution to support the process.
No prior experience is required. We simply ask that volunteers be prepared for light lifting, teamwork, and a spirit of service. As is common with many distributions, volunteers and recipients will also be invited to join in a brief prayer before the distribution begins.
This is a great opportunity for individuals, parish groups, and community partners to come together and directly support families facing food insecurity in our community.
